Weight
Where to enter weight. The same "Add weight" sheet opens from:
- Life โ Growth โ the "Weight" card โ "Details โ" โ "Edit weight";
- the "Current Weight" field in your dog's profile;
-
checking off a scheduled weigh-in on the Care screen.
-
Weight is entered in kilograms: more than 0 and up to 99 kg.
- The entry is dated today.
Double-check before saving. Puffy asks you to confirm: a saved value goes into the "Weight history" and can't be changed or deleted.
The norm. The arc on the "Weight" card shows whether the weight is within the norm for the breed.
- For young puppies there's no norm โ weigh them regularly, early growth varies a lot.
- For large breeds there's no norm yet. Puffy tracks your dog's own weight.
- If your dog has no breed, Puffy asks for the expected adult size: tap "Choose size".
It's a guide, not a substitute for your vet.
Life stages and human years
Puffy works out your dog's life stage โ Puppy, Junior, Adult, Senior and Senior+ โ from age and breed size. Large dogs grow up and age faster than small ones.
On the home screen, next to your dog's name and age, is their age in human years. It's an estimate โ that's what the "โ" is for.
The stage screen. Tap "Learn more" on the home screen, or open the stage card in Life โ Growth. It shows "What's happening now", "What's next" and "What matters now". Tap "Ask Asky about this stage" to ask a question.
The stage changes on its own as your dog grows; you can't pick it by hand. If the date of birth you entered is wrong, write to us: Profile โ "Contact support" (help@puffy.pet).
Heat & cycles
The "Heat & cycles" card in Life โ Growth is for females. If your dog's sex isn't set, choose it in their profile.
- If Puffy doesn't know whether your dog is spayed, the card asks. If she is, Puffy also asks "When was the spay?".
- Tap the card to open the "Heat & cycles" screen. When heat starts, tap "Heat started"; when it's over, tap "Heat ended". Marks are dated today โ you can't pick an earlier date, so mark it on the day.
The card shows when the next heat is expected. First heats are irregular, so early predictions are rough. Tap "Ask Asky about heat" if you have a question, and talk to your vet if something worries you.
